About ICAN1
Built by someone who has sat on both sides of the table — inside the school system, and inside a family.

Meet the Founder
I am LaVerne Sease-Batie: a wife, mother, school counselor, and the founder of ICAN1 LLC — a company built to close the gap between the classroom and the kitchen table. I work with overwhelmed parents and guardians whose children are struggling and underperforming in school, helping bridge the gap between parents, teachers, and educators by fostering partnerships that support students' academic success.
A Bridgeton, New Jersey native and graduate, I hold several distinguished degrees, including a Master of Education in School Counseling. I currently serve as a School Counselor in the Bridgeton Public School District, where I use my experience to support families.
I authored Growth Mindsets for Parents and Children, along with a growing catalog of workbooks, journals, and resources for children, teens, and families — each one teaching practical tools to navigate life's challenges and live successfully.
Guided by my faith, I am committed to inspiring both parents and children to embrace a growth mindset and realize their full potential. My favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13, reminds me daily: “I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.”

The ICAN1 Belief
Better choices create better futures.
Why ICAN1
ICAN1 combines my experience as a school counselor, parent coach, and author with practical resources designed for parents, children, teens, families, and educators. The focus is on providing clear information, useful tools, and strategies that can support communication, confidence, emotional awareness, responsible choices, growth mindset, and school-related concerns.
My experience working in schools and with families helps shape resources that consider both what students experience at school and what parents and families may be managing at home.
ICAN1 resources are designed to give parents, children, teens, and educators practical activities, questions, strategies, and tools they can use in everyday situations.
Resources are written in straightforward language so parents, children, teens, and educators can understand the information and put the tools into practice.
ICAN1 provides resources for children and teens as well as the parents, families, and educators who support them.
