About ICAN1

Two vantage points. One mission.

Built by someone who has sat on both sides of the table — inside the school system, and inside a family.

Meet the Founder

LaVerne Sease-Batie, M.Ed.

LaVerne founded ICAN1 LLC — Instilling Confidence and Nurturing Skills — to close the gap between what happens in the school building and what happens at the kitchen table. As a school counselor, she sees where students and families get stuck. As a parent coach, she helps families build the tools to move past it.

That dual perspective — insider knowledge of how schools work, paired with real, lived experience supporting families — shapes everything ICAN1 creates: books, workbooks, journals, coaching programs, and resources for children, teens, parents, and educators.

Every product carries the same belief: growth happens when people feel supported, understood, and equipped to make better choices.

The ICAN1 Belief

Better choices create better futures.

Why ICAN1

Built from real classrooms and real living rooms

ICAN1 exists for parents, children, teens, and educators who want practical, honest tools — not lectures. Every book, journal, and program is written the way LaVerne talks to families: warm, direct, and rooted in what actually works.

I.

Years inside the school system mean ICAN1 resources reflect what's really happening for students and families — not theory.

II.

III.
